Blake Shelton releases his fifth album today, May 6. Or is it officially still his fourth? Due to the phenomenal success of his current single, "Home," he is re-releasing his PURE BS album as PURE BS DELUXE EDITION. The album will include all of the previously released songs that were on PURE BS, including singles "Don't Make Me," and "The More I Drink." It will also include three new tracks including Shelton�s current smash hit, "Home", as well as two additional unreleased songs written by Shelton, "Chances" and "I Can't Walk Away." "How strange to be re-releasing an album but it's what makes sense. I wasn't due for another album for a while and "Home" was being so well received the label had to find a way to get it out to the fans, so now there's a PURE BS DELUXE EDITION," says Shelton. Shelton has partnered with Verizon Wireless to give a complimentary ringtone (for a limited time) of one of the previously unreleased tracks on PURE BS DELUXE EDITION, "Chances." Fans can visit the Verizon Wireless kiosk at all participating Circuit City stores to gain access to their complimentary ringtone. Shelton reflects on "Chances," "When I moved to Nashville in '94, it seemed like every song on the radio was about positive family things and falling in love. I wanted to write a song about falling in love the way it really happens sometimes. A guy just meeting a girl in a bar." "Home" is currently #12 on the R&R Country Singles Chart.

BLAKE RECORDS OPENING FOR NASCAR DAYTONA 300

Multi-platinum selling Blake Shelton recently rejoined his choir from NBC's Clash of the Choirs, Team Shelton, and recorded "Home" as the signature song for ESPN's return to NASCAR for the 2008 season. Shelton and the choir will open the Daytona 300 Nationwide race broadcast Saturday, February 16th 12:00ET on ESPN2. "Home" will be featured as bumps and rollouts throughout the race telecast. It will also be used in promotion spots on ESPN and ESPN2 the week prior to the race. Shelton and his choir grouped in Oklahoma City a couple of weeks ago for the reunion and taping. The song they recorded was one they performed in the Clash competition, the foot-stomping "Home," by Marc Broussard. Blake Shelton has just released his current single, �Home,� to country radio, and it will be available to download and purchase soon! �Home� will be available digitally at Amazon.com on February 1 as a digital single and also included on his album, PURE BS. On February 5 it will be available digitally at all other digital retailers including iTunes and Rhapsody. The ringtone will be available via all carriers in early February. On March 4 Blake Shelton: Collector�s Edition will be available in Wal-Mart only. The disc will not only include �Home� but also Shelton�s mega-hits �Austin,� �Ol� Red,� �Nobody But Me,� and �Some Beach.� PURE BS Deluxe Edition, including �Home� and other unreleased material, will be available in stores this summer.

NEW YORK, NY (Dec. 20, 2007) Blake Shelton and his Team Shelton choir didn�t take the #1 spot on NBC Clash of the Choirs but are very proud of their showing. After a week of hard work and nervous anticipation the 20 member choir and Shelton were thrilled with their performances and placing 3rd in the competition. Placing 1st was Nick Lachey�s choir from Cincinnati, OH and 2nd was Patti Labelle�s from Philadelphia, PA.
After it was announced that Shelton�s choir came in third the host of the show, Maria Menounos of Access Hollywood, surprised all the choirs by announcing that GE was making a $50,000 donation to each of the four choirs that did not win the competition.
�I couldn�t be prouder of this group of talented and energetic young people � they�ve worked hard the last three weeks and it�s amazing how they have jelled � both vocally and as a team,� says Shelton. �I�m not disappointed at all � I�ve had the time of my life and was thrilled we made it to the finals. And then when they announced that GE was donating $50,000 to each of the charities of the choirs that didn�t win � it just made everything that was already great even better. To be able to present Project Rebuild and the MWR this money just gives me the best feeling in the world.�
NBC tapped five musical superstars � Michael Bolton, Patti LaBelle, Nick Lachey, Kelly Rowland and Shelton with the challenge to create America�s best choir on their new competition show Clash of the Choirs. It aired live Monday � Thursday of this week with one choir voted off each night.
Monday evening Team Shelton performed �Life Is A Highway� and was recognized on Tuesday evening as receiving enough votes to keep them in the top three choirs as Team Rowland was eliminated from the competition. Tuesday evening they performed an energetic rendition of �Takin� It To The Streets� but on Wednesday night learned their placement had dropped and the votes placed them in the bottom two spots with Team Bolton. After Team LaBelle and Team Lachey performed it was announced that indeed Team Shelton was still in the competition and it was Team Bolton that had been eliminated. Wednesday evening Team Shelton performed �Home,� �Joy To The World,� and Shelton�s own �This Can�t Be Good.� Though voting was completed after Wednesday night�s show Team Shelton held nothing back for tonight�s performances � singing �Boondocks� and �Celebration.�

Blake Shelton Makes Donation to Flood Recovery Efforts

Blake Shelton presented Gov. Brad Henry and Project Rebuild with an $100,000 check to assist Oklahomans impacted by recent severe weather and flooding today. Last year, the funds of Blake Shelton's Raindance event assisted victims of Oklahoma�s historic wildfire season. This year, the money will help Oklahomans recover from record rains and flooding. �I am so proud that my fellow Oklahomans came through another year and supported RAINDANCE to make it the success that it was,� said Shelton. �The monies raised went directly to families in need and this year, instead of wildfire devastation, we're looking at folks hit by floods. RAINDANCE was held in my hometown of Ada and there are many, many volunteers who helped out and gave freely of their time and money to help pull this event off. Not only my neighbors helped out but also some of my friends from the entertainment and sporting industries came out and pitched in. It gives me great pleasure on behalf of all of them to present this money to Project Rebuild.�

BLAKE HELPS HIS HOME STATE OF OKLAHOMA

Blake will host a three-day event to aid the victims of the drought and subsequent wildfires in the hardest hit areas of Oklahoma. The event aptly called "Raindance" will be held in Ada, Oklahoma, Blake's hometown, on May 14th-16th. The special benefit will include an archery tournament beginning on Sunday May 14th from 8am-6pm at the Pontotoc Technology Center. The top 10 winners from each of three divisions will return on Monday, May 15th for the Celebrity Shoot-Out beginning at 5:30 pm. Team roping happens on Tuesday May 16th at Pontotoc County Agri-Plex from 10:00am-6:00pm, plus a silent auction and an all-star concert featuring Blake and special guests (who remain secret for now.) The concert and silent auction will be held at the Kerr Center on the ECU campus and begins at 8:00pm. In addition, the Governor of Oklahoma will declare May 16th "Raindance Day," with proceeds from this special event going directly to the families who lost everything to these devastating fires.

"It saddens me to know that people in my home state are suffering such devastating loss. It's hard to believe that the place where I grew up has been declared a federal disaster area. Purchasing insurance for livestock and farmland is not always an option, and if it is, it's usually an expensive one. I have the ability to reach a lot of people with my music. By putting this event together and inviting some of my artist friends to help out, I hope to raise money and awareness to help the citizens of Oklahoma get back on their feet again," comments Blake.

The state of Oklahoma has been in a state of emergency drought for months now, having had only one rain since last August, and estimations are that the state is currently drier than it was back in the Dustbowl days of the 50's and 60's. Since November 12, an estimated 2700 fires have consumed more than 555,000 acres of farmland and forest, taking with it many farm animals crucial to the livelihood of many people in the area. As many as 5000 cattle are estimated to have been lost in blazes between Texas and Oklahoma, and 14 of Oklahoma's 77 counties have been declared federal disaster areas. Over 300 homes in the area have been completely destroyed, with 569 damaged, and many of those families had no insurance coverage to help them get back on their feet. Recognizing the plight of his fellow Oklahomans and this national concern, Shelton was quick to jump in and help those in need at such a crucial time by organizing the concert, which he hopes to make an annual event.

This past weekend Blake Shelton played the last scheduled show with Rascal Flatts after more than 16 months on the road with the group so the gloves came off and the pranks were flying. Saturday in Lafayette at the Cajundome shortly after Blake took the stage a black curtain was lowered in front of the microphone and Blake and the band were hidden from the audience. After a few moments the sheet fell to the floor and Blake let the audience in on what was going on and wisely advised the audience that it may not be the last interruption to the evenings performance. Next in the middle of another song a local high school band entered the arena playing like it was a half-time show. Then in classic Carol Burnett fashion a custodian came out to sweep the stage during the set and if that wasn't enough finally during "Ol' Red" a man in a dog suit harassed Blake and the band throughout the song.

Blake later retaliated with a tirade onstage as Rascal Flatts began singing part of "Goodbye Time" claiming the group did not know the right words to the song after traveling with him for all these months. Then he presented Jay DeMarcus with a toilet seat because he had been sick recently and had "worn out the old toilet seat on the bus." After that exchange everyone shook hands, hugs and thank yous.

What can I say about Blake Shelton live? He's amazing, entertaining, funny, extremely talented, connects with the crowd, is a great storyteller and just a down to earth, all-around fun-loving guy who loves to be on stage, doing what he loves to do, singing and playing country music.

I've been blessed to have seen Blake over 25 times (and still going strong!) since 2002, and every show gets better and better. He's really come out of his shell so to speak since the first time I saw him. He's interacting more and has really come into his own. It's been awesome to see! The shows always leave me wanting more; I could watch him perform for hours and never get tired. Those of you that have seen Blake live know what I am talking about. It's really difficult to put into words. Go to a show, you'll see what I mean!

He's got a great bunch of guys playing with him who enjoy being up on stage just as much as he does. You can just see and feel the connection he has with them when they are playing; it's great! If you haven't caught his show yet, RUN, DO NOT WALK to the nearest ticket counter and get your tickets for his show! You will be entertained, that I can guarantee! You will laugh and you may very well cry, but trust me you will be hooked once he walks out on stage; one show is never enough!

While making a guest appearance on the CMT Top Twenty Countdown last week, host Lance Smith made an unusual bet with Blake. Lance bet that if the song "On A Good Day" was released as Blake's next single, it would go #1. He backed up his bet with a promise to wear a cowboy hat and Blake Shelton wig around the studio for a day if the song failed to reach the top of the charts. In return, Blake had to promise to name his next pet turkey "Lance" if the song did reach #1!

Blake is chillin' in Las Vegas this week, in town for the ACM Awards. During a KLME remote on Monday morning, Blake was teasing his good friend Darryl Worley about his many business ventures, including a furniture store and restaurant. Worley, an obvious fan of CMT's Top Twenty Countdown, responded by taunting Blake about his future pet turkey, "Lance!"

It was an interesting weekend for Blake, complete with dancing girls and farm animals. Blake spends most of his free time on his farm outside of Nashville, but with fair season in full effect he found himself surrounded by farm animals on the road as well. Blake performed at fairs in Pennsylvania and Michigan and will hit the Williams County fair in Ohio this weekend.
